We got a sunny sunday today here in Istanbul:) It is a beautiful
feeling to have such a warm and shiny day after long, dark and freezing days of
winter... Well, sundays are always a family day for many since many don't have
work:) That's the reason, I thought it could be a good idea to have some
little, sweet surprizes to sweeten the family day for all...I hope you will all
enjoy in having this yummy dessert:)
INGREDIENTS for HALWA:
- 1 Glass of semolina (160gr)
- 1 glass of sugar(200gr)
- 1 glass of milk,(245gr)
- 1 glass of water(240gr)
- 1 pack of vanilin(10gr)
- 1 small pack of pine nuts if you have (up to how much
you would like to have)
- 2 table spoon of butter
- 75ml of
olive oil
How to get it ready:
- Melt butter and olive oil, fry the pinenuts till
they change the color a bit.
- Get milk, water and vanilin in a seperate cooker,
mix till sugar melts,leave it for warming.
- Add semolina into pinenuts and fry.
- Add milky mixture in, once you feel the beautiful
smell of fried semolina and see the color change.
- Stir semolina and milk mixture all the time till
semolina absorb the whole milk on a medium fire,
- Off the stove and leave halwa for 10 min with a
lid on.
Let's get ready for a lovely carrot
filling :)
You will need the items down;
- 300 gr (3 medium size) carrot
- 45 gr sugar
- 50 ml water
- 50 gr of grounded walnut
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
Grate carrots, mix with sugar and water, cook till all juice disappear.
Add walnut, cinnamon and mix again.
Get a bowl, fill with halwa, make some space in the middle, add carrot filling and cover all around with halwa back. Turn the bowl down on a plate , scatter some coconut, nuts or cinnamon on.
There you go with a yummy Halwa with carrot filling for you,your guests and family :)
